Roi Soleil le Bal! is a Rotterdam party night in Roodkapje with the French singer-songwriter IZAE and DJ afterparty (TBA) as support act. What would a royal ball à la Versailles look like in 2024; but queer, genuinely fun and in ragged Rotterdam? So! After the singles Fou, Monsieur Baudelaire and Chien, Roi Soleil’s entire EP A La Lumière is presented with a new show together with his live band.
Roi Soleil makes ‘Frenglish pop with a dash of queer glitter’. The self-love universe of the Rotterdam Sun King is spread over his people in a heroic party journey to the light. Roi Soleil’s personal pop hits are about self-love, identity, Baudelaire’s existentialism, wanting a dog and adolescent sadness. Inspired by the greatest pop icons of all time, a boy from the Brabant village of Oud-Gastel gives all the life energy he has to fill your soul with love. Allez c’est parti!
